The X-type molecular sieve 13X has a much larger pore opening than the A-type. It is mainly used for the purification of raw gas in air separation plants to remove water and carbon dioxide; the drying and desulfurization of LNG, liquefied petroleum gas, and liquid hydrocarbons; and the deep drying of general gases.
13X (APG) special molecular sieve for air separation is a sodium-type aluminosilicate, the pore size of the crystal is 9Å (0.9nm), and it can adsorb any molecule smaller than 9A, so usually it can be used for the drying of general industrial gas and the purification (simultaneous removal of H2O and CO2 and some hydrocarbons) of feed gas in air separation units. It meets the special requirements of the cryogenic air separation industry, improves the adsorption capacity of carbon dioxide and water, and avoids the phenomenon of freezing towers during the air separation process. It has the characteristics of high carbon dioxide adsorption capacity, low regeneration temperature and long service life.
